Experience
Most of my teaching experience has been in music. In 2014-15 I taught music production and DJ classes to students aged 11-50 (not a typo!) with a program in Boston. I really loved teaching and getting to know my students. The classes were small--usually just two to four students--so the atmosphere was similar to a private tutoring session. I have also given private lessons in production and DJing, both through the program I was working for and independently. I did very well in all my classes through high school and college. My college coursework focused on music theory and writing, especially in my last two years. Those are the subjects that I get most excited about now (including writing of any kind, not just writing about music). That said, I'm happy to work on a variety of other subjects. I've done well on standardized tests, scoring above 700 on every section of the SAT and 4 or 5 on the following AP tests: Computer Science, Calculus BC, Latin Poetry, and Latin Lit. I'm an aspiring music producer and DJ so the flexibility of private tutoring is a good fit for me. I take my work as a musician very seriously and I hope to one day reach a point where my music helps people in their daily lives. Until then, tutoring is a way to contribute to the community and directly help others with their education, something I really believe in. My education has been an important positive force in my life and it feels great to give that back to other people.
